Good questions
Things you might be wondering.
What is coaching?
Coaching is about working together to help you find your own path. It supports you in exploring new ways of thinking and doing, across areas like career, health, and relationships. The process can include honest questions, challenge and fresh perspectives, and practical steps that lead to real growth and change.
Is this therapy?
No. Coaching is forward-facing and practical: we work on how you want your career and working life to look, and how to get there. If something comes up that would be better held by a therapist, I'll say so honestly and help you find the right support.
Do I need to be burnt out to work with you?
Not at all. Plenty of people come to coaching precisely because they can feel the early warning signs and want to change course before things get worse. Prevention is a lot more pleasant than recovery.
I'm not a designer. Can we still work together?
Yes. I coach designers, researchers, writers, leaders, artists, developers and other creative folk. If you make things for a living and want a more sustainable way of doing it, you're in the right place.
Where do sessions happen?
Online, over video, so you can join from wherever you are. Cameras optional on the hard days.
I'm freelance, can this still work?
Yes. Plenty of my clients are independents, so I'm used to working around contract cycles and offer flexible payment options. Coaching is also a business expense for most freelancers, which softens the sting considerably.
Can my employer pay for this?
Often, yes. Many companies have learning and development budgets that cover coaching, and design leaders are usually receptive to it. If it helps, I'm happy to provide a short summary of the programme you can share with your manager.
What happens on the intro call?
We chat for around thirty minutes about where you're at and what you'd like to change. You can ask me anything, I'll be honest about whether coaching is the right fit, and there's zero pressure to book anything afterwards.
Is what we talk about confidential?
Completely. What's said in sessions stays between us, including when an employer is footing the bill. They fund the coaching; they don't get a transcript.
How much does it cost?
The intro call is free and there's no obligation afterwards. I'll share programme and Reset Session pricing on that call, along with a couple of flexible payment options.
